There is a story of a man who had persistent ringing in his ears, with a flushed face and bulging eyes. He went from doctor to doctor in an attempt to find out about this affliction and if there is a cure. Repeatedly told there was no medical explanation for his symptoms, he decided to try one more doctor before giving up. After interviewing the patient for some time, the new doctor told him the condition was terminal and his timeline was around 6 to 8 months.
